Gemini

Gemini artwork by Chris Freyer

The Gemini symbol is meant to represent a pair of twins, particularly Dioscuri, who were granted shared half-immortality after the death of their mortal brother Castor. Geminis are known to have duel personalities, acting one way on a certain day and completely differently the next. However, the twins also represent a Gemini’s desire to communicate with others and share ideas with a group.

Have you ever been so busy that you wished you could clone yourself just to get everything done? That’s the Gemini experience in a nutshell. Appropriately symbolized by the celestial twins, this air sign was interested in so many pursuits that it had to double itself.

Opposite sign and house: Sagittarius

This is a mental axis, where Gemini and the 3rd house represent the “lower mind” and Sagittarius and the 9th house represent the “higher mind”. Gemini and the third house rule curiosity and logical thinking. Sagittarius and the ninth house rule a broader way of thinking–the quest for meaning, ideas that expand upon the here and now.
