Fun Facts about the Rat

The rat is the first animal in the Chinese zodiac system. According to myth, the rat was the first animal to arrive when the Jade Emperor called the animals to create the zodiac signs. The rat won the race by riding on the ox’s back and jumping ahead just before the ox crossed the finish line. The rat symbolizes wisdom, wealth, and prosperity.
